Links of Interest to the Mystery Writer

One of the things the Working Stiffs enjoy doing when we're not working at our day jobs or writing mystery fiction is scouring the Internet for publishing news and to see what’s happening in the industry. It’s Friday, so we thought we’d end the week with some of our favorite “hot links” available to mystery fans.

Publishers Marketplace is a one-stop-shop for what’s happening in the publishing industry and a great resource for writers looking to keep up with who’s selling what.

Mystery Lovers Bookshop is an independent bookshop located in Oakmont, Pa. Their online search engine allows you to search any mystery book by author, title or character.

Pennwriters is a Pennsylvania-based organization that offers, among other things, a yearly conference that’s not to be missed.

Confessions of an Idiosyncratic Mind by Sarah Weinman pretty much sets the standards for news. Updated daily.

Backspace is an online resource and forum where writers can go to gain information from experts and also commensurate with other writers. They also offer a yearly conference.

Miss Snark is a “mystery agent” who offers witty and brutally honest commentary on the publishing industry
