I've mentioned my friend Diana before - she's the one who writes the yoga mysteries for Berkley Prime Crime - but she also writes a series about an American school teacher in the lake district in England, who has adventures and mysteries rooted in the 'bad boy' poets and their work. The first book, IIRC, 'High Crimes and Misdemeanors' had to do with Byron and Allegra and all that. They're a lot of fun.

Excellent post, Martha.Jennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01442754671445893599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33226151.post-69452427243087845412008-09-09T07:34:00.000-04:002008-09-09T07:34:00.000-04:00Justin Timberlake might be a bad boy if he ever es...Justin Timberlake might be a bad boy if he ever escapes his handlers...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33226151.post-53488893333915161392008-09-09T07:22:00.000-04:002008-09-09T07:22:00.000-04:00Very interesting, Martha. Do you remember the Brut (?) commercial where a bar full of women look up as a whole band of good looking guys walks in and one woman says: "Where have you guys been?"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33226151.post-17273658271741811182008-09-09T07:05:00.000-04:002008-09-09T07:05:00.000-04:00I've seen a few wannabe bad boys (who the hell was...I've seen a few wannabe bad boys (who the hell was that jerk who hosted the MTV awards the other night?) but you're right. None of them truly qualify. Perhaps we are in the Age of Wild Women and the Bad Boys are taking a breather.

Interesting and educational post, Martha.Annettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755947919433555176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33226151.post-14621144955171035202008-09-09T06:59:00.000-04:002008-09-09T06:59:00.000-04:00Tory, call it what you will, I'd like some. : )And...Tory, call it what you will, I'd like some. : )

And I've noticed the lack of bad boys lately. God knows the girls are acting up, but where are the Jim Morrisons, the Mick Jaggers of this generation? Sure they were bad, but they had fun.

Are the current bad boys so well managed that we never find out about them anymore? If so, that seems a pity.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33226151.post-81830363954647371272008-09-09T06:51:00.000-04:002008-09-09T06:51:00.000-04:00Wow, selling writing on subscription.
